Powerful Healing and Cleansing with White Sage

Healing and cleansing with White Sage

White Sage is a powerful herb. For thousands of years and used by cultures all over the world, Salvia - which comes from the Latin word salveo meaning "to heal" - is known for its healing and invigorating properties.

It can be a potent medicinal remedy for a great number of common ailments including lung, throat and sinus infections, digestive problems or for easing heavy and painful menstruations.

But the most important value of White Sage lies in its ability to purify and cleanse people, places, animals and material objects from negative energies or spirits.
Just like spring cleaning, smudging with White Sage helps you to cleanse your home, office, favorite objects or yourself spiritually making space to attract positive vibrations.

How to Smudge your Home

Native American tribes have a long tradition of using White Sage in their spiritual ceremonies in which herbal sticks are burned for spiritual, psychic and emotional purification

The burning of herbs is called smudging and it is also very effective when there are unseen tensions in the room or when people feel depressed, unmotivated and unwell.

Performing a smudging ritual in your home or preferred space is very easy and brings instant harmony and peace:

1) First, de-clutter the space where you would like to perform the smudging ritual and create a relaxing atmosphere. Close all doors and windows

2) Prepare White Sage sticks to burn, a heat-proof bowl and a lighter or matches

3) Light the tips of the White Sage sticks in your bowl until smoke appears. The smoke can be thick or thin depending on the negative energy present. It attaches itself to the negative energy and takes it away, clearing the space for positive vibrations. You will notice that the smoke in some rooms of your home will be more intense than in others

4) Take your bowl with the burning sticks into every room of your home and smudge every corner in a clockwise circle. To finish off, bring the bowl into the center of the room

5) Once you have smudged every room thoroughly, close the doors and let the smoke work its magic

6) After 10-15 minutes, open the windows in every room and feel how peaceful and light it now is
