Certificate Course Level I &  Level II


Objectives
Our certificate course (Level I and Level II) is formulated for those who have an interest in aromatherapy and would like to go slightly deeper into the subject to appreciate better the therapeutic use of essential oils.

Upon completion of the whole course, you will be equipped with the basic skills necessary for blending and using essential oils in many areas of your life. You will also be entitled to fee reduction for enrolment into our world accredited diploma course.


Course Content and Learning Hours
The course comprises theory and hands-on practice sessions offered in either English or Chinese.

Each of the two levels covers 3 modules / 36 class hours, namely

Essential Oil Pharmacy (15 class hours)
Anatomy and Physiology (7.5 class hours)
Massage (7.5 class hours)

The total number of hours is 60.

Students are required to complete assignments and examinations in Level I and Level II respectively.

Level I   - HK$3,900
Level II -  HK$3,900
Level I & II - HK$7,020 (10% off for signing up at the same time)

** For APA Introductory Course Student, a further HK$450 fee deduction for enrollment
   in Level I.

This workshop aims to rekindle interest in the long lost tools
of traditional  aromatherapy - Distilled Aromatic Waters.

 Topics covered
~ Experiencing Aromatic History
Waters with a long history of use, such as rose, bitter orange flower, Carmelite Water, Queen of Hungary Water, and Aqua Merabilis will be introduced briefly.
~ The definition of aromatic waters
Aromatic water will be defined and compared with related products such as hydrosols. It will be also distinguished from unrelated products such as scented or perfumed waters.
~The chemistry and distillation techniques of aromatic water
The known facts about the chemical makeup of true aromatic waters will be clarified  and  shown that aromatic waters are richer in the gentler acting volatile components of an aromatic plant.
~The distillation techniques of aromatic water
The distillation of aromatic waters will be explored with emphasis on the practical factors that influence    the quality of the distillate.
~Therapeutic applications of aromatic waters
The therapeutic applications of acne, dermatitis, psoriasis, menopause, pre-menstrual syndrome, skin rejuvenation, detoxification, irritable bowel syndrome, stress management, depression, insomnia, weight management will be fully discussed.

Angelica, aniseed, Bay, Bitter orange flower, Chamomiles, Cinnamon, Coriander, Cardamom, Dill, Elecampane, Fennel, Frankincense, Ginger, Hyssop, Lavender, Melissa, Mint, Myrrh, Rose Geranium, Rose, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Valerian, Vitex, Witch hazel, Yarrow.

ABOUT Joe Nasr

 
Joe was born in Lebanon and educated in UK. At the present he practices as a medical herbalist and osteopath. He is also a senior lecturer in herbal medicine at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.
He also devoted to working with the growing of herbs and the production of high quality herbal extracts and Aromatic Water using new improved distillation methods.
